Rants-no-one-will-ever-be-able-to-read: To live forever
Don’t judge me. I like Twilight, I do. But it’s not like I want to live forever or become a gorgeous sparkling ice-cold vampire who is all kinds of perfect nor do I want to marry one. It’s been quite long since I first became a fan but the idea never crossed my mind. And just recently, I became averse to the idea of ‘forever’ or ‘endless time’. It seems too much time to live or exist. You would probably end up getting crazy because you won’t have anything much to do. And nothing, nothing is important anymore except the people you love. But maybe they too will lose their importance and your entire existence is useless. Lest you make it useful but there is only a handful of things you can actually do for this world. You can devote your life to helping the poor, or curing the sick, or eliminating bad guys but in the end you can’t really stop anything. And then you’d realize that and get depressed because you can’t contain all the grief and sadness that is this world. You’d want to get out of it and start wishing that you’ve gone all those years ago. You can’t even remember the date because tracking time wasn’t necessary; you had all the time in the world, why bother?… So that will be an immortal’s life on earth.
As John Green said, “Forever is an incorrect concept.” Even those sparkly vampires don’t really have forever because they’re not as invincible as people think they are. So forever is unattainable. But I think infinity is negotiable.
Moments like these…
What makes these moments special are their uniqueness. The fact that they can never again be repeated is the reason why we hold on to them. We keep them inside our hearts where we know they’ll be safe. Forever (even if it’s just a concept).
It’s time to let you go.
